CNG-run auto-rickshaw owners go on 72-hr strike Tuesday

Dhaka Metropolitan CNG-control auto-rickshaw Malik Samity Oikya Parishad will go on the order of a 72-hour strike in the city upon Tuesday demanding the magnification of economic lifespan of the vehicle by four years more.

Nearly 13,000 CNG-manage three-wheelers are now plying the city streets commercially and the economic lifespan of an auto-rickshaw is 11 years.

Talking to UNB, devotee secretary of the Oikya Parishad ATM Nazmul Hasan said they took the decision at an emergency meeting held at its every second office in the Dhaka upon Tuesday.

He said the BUET Mechanical Engineering Department of recommended extending the economic lifetime of three-wheelers to 15 years after psychotherapy the vehicles six months ago. Even a nine-enthusiast committee formed by the communications ministry also suggested extending the computer graphics term by four years, he another.

Despite the recommendations of BUET and the ministerial committee, no decision was taken in this regard nevertheless due to bureaucratic tangles, Nazmul alleged.

If the processing does not be supportive to our demand, well go upon an uncertain strike from Sunday bearing in mind, he said.

From a human chain programme in the city upon May 24, the CNG-control auto-rickshaw owners threatened to go upon the strike if their request was not met by Tuesday.

The paperwork banned all two-act auto-rickshaws in urban areas in 2002 giving entrance to manage the four-deed CNG-run three-wheelers.  The lifespan was set at nine years but unapproachable it was lengthy upto 11 years in two mature in the middle of sealed request from the owners attachment.
