On 27 April, Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam, his three partners and driver were abducted by miscreants from Fatullah place of Narayanganj. Hours after their abduction, senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarker and his driver were along with abducted upon their habit to capital Dhaka.

Three days into their abduction, the bodies of the seven people were recovered from the Shitalakhya and Dhaleshwari rivers upon 30 April.
