A rare-breed 58- kilogram Baghair (Bagarius bagarius) fish caught from the river Jamuna drew the empathy of the supple people as it was brought from Gaibandha to Bogra district town going a propos for Wednesday hours of daylight.
Baghair fish is logically endangered in the country due to home loss and food scarcity.
Fishermen of Tara Miah's boat netted the giant fish from the Jamuna River at Balashighat area of Fulbari upazila in Gaibandha as regards Tuesday.
Tara Mia demanded Tk 42,000 for selling the fish. But it could not be known who bought the fish at last.
Baghair is an endangered fish. International Conservation Union of Nature (IUCN) listed the species in their red data stamp album as precariously endangered.
Baghair is doable in busy waters of Bangladesh, India, Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Sumatra, Borneo and Java. The fish feeds upon shrimp, bloodworms, frog and new little fishes. It breeds prior to the rainy season.
